Yesterday marked International Overdose Awareness Day. In 2021 in Massachusetts there were 2,290 overdose related deaths. Correctional institutions are ground zero in the fight against the opioid epidemic and no one sees that more acutely than a certified correctional healthcare provider (CCHP) like Caitlin. Provisions to offer all FDA approved medications, intensive substance use disorder treatment and therapy as well and connecting incarcerated individuals with community pr
Congratulations to all the grant recipients for vocational and technical training programs. The list of grant recipients includes over 90 institutions and schools, including Sheriff Cocchi and the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, and several institutions in Hampshire County, but not the Sheriff’s Office. Expansion of vocational and technical programs, which teach marketable, in-demand skills offering livable wages are a fundamental campaign platform point of #sepedaforshe
The ACLU of Massachusetts submitted questionnaires to all candidates for Sheriff across the Commonwealth containing a variety of questions aimed at educating voters about the stance of each candidate on important issues related for the role of Sheriff. You can see each candidate’s answers by clicking the link below and then clicking on an individual candidate’s name. We encourage all voters to see where the three candidates in this race stand on the issues. As always, feel f

It has been a missed opportunity by the current Administration for not effectively communicating to the public at large. In a 2020 article published in Nursing Outlook, researchers looked at how the profession of nursing was viewed by the general public. For the 20th year in a row, Registered Nurses like Caitlin held the top spot as most trusted profession with more than 85% of respondents rating the honesty and ethical standards of Registered Nurses as high or very high. Thanks for a fantastic evening Ware! It was so nice to see a carnival back in Ware so many years after the St. Mary’s Carnival, a staple for so many folks born and raised in town like Caitlin, ended its run. It was great chatting with so many people from all over the county enjoying the fun. Thank you to event organizers, vendors and Ware Police and EMS for keeping everyone safe. #sepedaforsheriff
The tried and true tradition of the Ware (St. Mary’s, if you’re a hometown gal like Caitlin) Carnival happens this week. Caitlin will be there Thursday night enjoying the festivities and connecting with voters in the eastern part of the county. Stop and say hi when you see the #sepedaforsheriff T-shirt walking by!
Another weekend, another great community event! Workshop13 is hosting the fantastic Rock the Park Music and Arts Festival in Caitlin’s hometown of Ware. Be on the lookout for #sepedaforsheriff T-shirts out enjoying the event. Be sure to check out the Corn Hole Tournament on the T-ball field hosted by our great supporters, Club 12. Happy Pride Month to all of our LGBTQI+ friends and supports. Hampshire County is by and large an incredibly welcoming and inclusive community; one that we at #SepedaForSheriff are so happy to be a member of and seeking to represent on a larger scale. Continued and expanded support of the LGBTQI+ community in both our justice involved individuals and our staff is a keystone principle of this campaign and will be in this Administration once elected. 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️
What a week! Charter Days in Granby, for which we were both sponsor and volunteer, a fantastic Cottage Street block party at Cultural Chaos (we saw you Homar Gomez cutting a rug) in Easthampton, back for some good old fashioned tractor pulls, a fantastic talk with the Worthington Democratic Town Committee, 3(!) news articles and seeing signs, signs, signs all over the county. It was amazing. This is a great community to be a part of and meeting some great supporters this week
The Daily Hampshire Gazette posted a story this week after the official Democratic Primary ballot was set. Candidates were required to get their certified signatures, along with other documentation, to the Secretary of the Commonwealth's Office by May 31st for final verification. Previously announced challenger, John "Jack" Vanasse has withdrawn his bid for election making the Democratic Primary a winner take all event. In this article, we at #SepedaForSheriff would encourage

The summer events calendar is in full swing. #SepedaForSheriff is a proud sponsor of Granby’s Charter Days June 10-12th. Caitlin will be there Saturday during the day enjoying the festivities and volunteering at night during the Atlas Fireworks to help make this great event even better. Make sure to say hi!
Staff do not quit bad jobs, they quit bad leadership. #SepedaForSheriff will begin a new weekly series, “Weekend Plans”, where campaign platform points and specific plans for change will be laid out for voters. The sections will be lengthy, but effective leadership goals don’t happen in soundbites. We encourage you to interact and if you’d like to know more, reach out to the campaign to schedule a meet and greet with Caitlin for your friends and colleagues where you can learn
We have a limited run of campaign T-shirts available (S-XL) to help support the campaign. Head on over to the “Get Involved“ page and let us know you want one. We’d love you to tag the #SepedaForSheriff campaign in pictures you post on Instagram or Facebook wearing our merch around Hampshire County.
Happy Mother's Day! Moms can be exceptional in their selflessness, dedication and love for those they care for. Please join us all here at the #SepedaForSheriff campaign in taking a special moment today to thank all the moms in your life for everything they do, especially those like Caitlin who work in corrections and sacrifice precious time with family in order to serve, care for and protect their community.
Happy National Nurse's Day, Week and Month! As a nurse herself who practices within the walls of corrections today, as well as during the earliest, most trying days of the pandemic, Caitlin knows that nurses are the backbone of healthcare. They are highly skilled, cool under pressure, relentless patient advocates. Nurses make impacts large and small, seen and unseen, every day. This profession has faced unprecedented challenges over the past 2 years which have highlighted not
